We all know how hard it is to get stuck with many thoughts and ideas about our next project, whether you want to paint or sketch, oil colors or acrylic.. where does a person start..?
Well, artist block and writer's block is a real thing, and in fact, the majority of the global population faces this problem.
However, that does not mean that you should give up or procrastinate the work.
To begin with, you have to acknowledge what causes artist block.
It could be self-doubt, fear of judgment or criticism, lack of skills, mental or physical exhaustion, or even being a perfectionist, preventing some from pursuing a lot. The reality is that nothing and no one is perfect.
Furthermore, exercises to combat such ideas.
Believing in yourself is the first step to combat many things in life.
Meditating before starting, keeping a sketchbook to sketch ideas and drawings to go back to.
Asking yourself why you aren't motivated, and finding the root cause of these emotions and thoughts.
Going out and socializing with people you love helps with losing up as well.
try changing the work area, or even doing something different than what you are used to.
Try not to overthink it and just give it a go, either way, it's a lesson.
To conclude, artist block is a blessing in disguise; it helps us grow in many ways, the only thing to do is to keep moving, and if you fail or succeed, it's at your own pace, and you will learn more and more.
